When pupils have actually one thing in the web page to work well with, they could start the decision-making process essential to developing a coherent idea or argument. At this stage, pupils will choose which tips most interest them, which some ideas appear to fit together, which a few ideas have to be put aside, and which tips require further research.
The following activities will help students make decisions as they shape a few ideas:
- Drawing diagrams. Sometimes it can help to consider the design your tips appear to be using as they are developed by you. Write down your primary tips from the web page and then see in some way if you can connect them. Do they form a square? a group? An umbrella with spokes coming down? A pyramid? Does one idea appear to lay on a rack above another concept? Would signs that are equal greater or less indications allow you to show the relationships the thing is that betwixt your concept?
